A Quiet Man To know a man who felt such peace, A softened voice, my heartfelt grief, I've lost a father true to form, A great teacher, Oh how he warmed, The wicked ways of my twisted heart, I've had some fortune, yet gained apart, A memory best forgotten, A body buried and sodden. But will I find such grieving near, When I am gone, One Moistened Tear? Loving children, old and young, Followed stricken in evening song, Will a town slow its pace? As countless echo, What Majestic Grace! Had such a man, so young yet old, No tender way, kindled cold.
