Evening Show …
The labors of the day are now complete; The sun descends with grace into the west. The final golden rays are in retreat The workers hurry home to take their rest. The darkness overtakes the fading light. The setting sun yields way to ebon dye. As images upon the slate of night, The stars illume in patterns on the sky. The gods and goddesses of long ago, The heroes and the monsters out of yore, They dance across the sky, as in a show. Where once we watched, now we choose to ignore. The stellar show no one takes time to see. We hurry home and turn on our TV. ![]() Shakespearean style sonnet – Pattern: abab-cdcd-efef-gg – 10 syllables per line ![]()
