Te Amo
Her hair blew wild in the cool winter’s wind The memory of her swept my mind once again The stars resembled her sparkly eyes Blue as the oceans and clear summer skies “Te Amo,” she whispered, she breathed in my ear While holding my hand, her body near She was tall, slim, of Spanish descent Her skin tone of cream and the odor of mint I stared, transfixed, in her blue tinted eyes Blue as the oceans and clear summer skies Her lips dipped in red, ‘round her eyes painted black The face of perfection and faults that she lacked Closer she came as our lips collide Kissing, embracing, our love frozen in time “Te Amo,” she whispered, she breathed in my ear While holding my hand, her body near She left in my arms that very same night After watching the sunrise and kissed in its light “Te Amo,” these words repeat in my head “I love you, I love you,” the last words she said. “I love you,” I whispered as tears filled my eyes Softly I kissed her, and sat there, and cried © 1998 JCWash
