A Safe Place to Hide My spirit is wounded, ragged, and worn; deep from my chest, my heart has been torn. A hand 'round my throat squeezes my heart, threatening to tear our world apart. My love being tightly woven through the depths of me, holds on to you, when I should break free. And deep in my soul I feel it all come undone, as shards of hatred whisper, "finally he's won." If you say you love me, whys your hand 'round my throat? If I'm everything to you, why am I the last one to know? I feel no love in your anger, as your crushing my insides, if this is how love goes, give me a safe place to hide. I plead for strength, as I feel my weakness grow. Emotions eat at me through songs of sorrow. And tomorrow I know, it will all be the same. A face in the crowd, I have not even a name. I'll still be lost, fighting for the love in you. Holding onto the memories of the you I once knew. And again your hand will creep up to do harm, lost in this love, I'll still be unarmed. And deep in my soul, I feel it all come undone. As shards of hatred whisper, "finally, he's won." If you say you love me, why do I feel your hand 'round my throat? If I'm everything to you, why am I the last one to know? I feel no love in your anger, as your crushing my insides; if this is how love goes, give me a safe place to hide. I can't do this, love let me go to a safe place to hide, where this pain I won't know.
