While You Were Gone
So sad that you were far away The day they passed from Earth, But everyone's alone when they Go through a death or birth. You could not say a fond goodbye, Or soothe with gentle hand, But Angels heard their parting sigh, With hearts that understand. And caring arms reached out to them, To help them on their way, The love you had is living on, To comfort you each day. They know you loved them, even though They're at their peaceful rest, Our dear companions always know We gave them of our best.
