A Penny Saved...
A penny saved, the cliché goes, is not always what it seems. I saved a woman the other day who had fallen in a stream. She was so grateful for my deed that she followed me around. Her constancy of devotion had me wishing that she'd drowned! It turns out her name was Penny. She was just trying to be nice but I couldn't stand her hanging 'round 'cause she constricted like a vise! As fate would have it one day, as she was in the street, she was killed by a speeding car which knocked her off her feet. Her family took her last remains to a place and had them burned. The Penny that I saved was now a Penny urned. Notes An entry in "School Daze Nursery Rhyme Extravaganza" Inspired by See-Saw, Margery Daw Thank you for taking time to read my words. I would appreciate it if you took a moment and left a comment. Your reaction, impressions, criticisms, - yes, even praise Ken
