Author’s note: For those who may be unaware, The Three Faces of Eve was a popular movie made in the late 1950’s. Based upon a true story, it centers on the life of Eve White, a shy, depressed housewife who suffers from headaches and blackouts and is ultimately referred to a psychiatrist, who discovers a second personality, Eve Black, a selfish, irresponsible party-animal who is the polar opposite of Eve White. Ultimately, a third personality, Jane, who essentially embodies "all that is good" (and is missing) from the first two personalities. Eventually, through counseling, Jane becomes the dominant personality and both of the "Eves" disappear completely. Through the use of dropnotes, it is possible to read this poem chronologically (in the order of personality disclosure) from the perspective of Eve White (“depressed” or blue type), Eve Black (“manic” or red type),or as Jane (“happy” or tan type). Further information about these interesting phenomena can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Three_Faces_of_Eve). The first line in each stanza is a normal daily event confronted by each personality, while the three lines that follow the first line underscore behavior which is unique to each personality, for the sake of contrast.
Given the time of year, it seems a poem of this nature might be appropriate (Kind of spooky, as it's based on a true story)!

The Three Faces of Eve:
A Poetic Interpretation
By Indelibleink
Eve White
The sun rises and I start a new day,
Need some help filling the empty spaces -
Stay away from depression's embraces,
Strength to carry on: Or know that I may.
The cream in my coffee makes a strange sign,
Terrified as to its impact on me -
It looks like a rope hung down from a tree,
Only pray that the neck in it's not mine.
Get in the car, and make my way to work,
They mistreat me so, that I could just sob -
Sure hope today is my last at this job,
Where the demons who do stalk me still lurk.
As the sun sets I reflect on the day,
I look for good things, but I can find none -
The weight on my shoulders feels like a ton,
Want it to end, and tomorrow it may...
The last thought I have, as I drift asleep,
Tell me: Just when will peace ever arrive?
Just can't tolerate life's path which I drive,
Nor any of the company I keep.
Eve Black
The sun rises and I start a new day,
Looking for fun, in all the wrong places -
Less I be chased, or the one who chases,
It's time to party: Get out of my way!
The cream in my coffee makes a strange sign,
But, really, what does it matter to me?
I'll stagger home at a quarter to three,
Save a hangover, things will be just fine.
Get in the car, and make my way to work,
Working with these losers: man, what a mob -
Some more cash today from here I did rob,
It is the "bonus" that causes my smirk!
As the sun sets I reflect on the day,
Guess I had my daily dose of great fun -
Made some jokes at the expense of someone,
If they don't like it - stay out of my way!
The last thought I have, as I drift asleep,
Enemies made: At least four or five -
Don't care if they soon find out I'm all jive,
I have no qualms about being a creep!
Jane
The sun rises and I start a new day,
Hoping to remain in God's good graces -
Ever surrounded by smiling faces,
His blessed love must be coming to stay!
The cream in my coffee makes a strange sign,
Yet I know His sound wisdom shall guide me -
Far, to the water, or near, by a tree,
No question that with Him, all shall be fine
Get in the car, and make my way to work,
Toil so hard that my head begins to throb -
Not a complaint; happy to have a job,
Getting a paycheck is a welcome "perk!"
As the sun sets I reflect on the day,
Simply grateful for all that God has done -
Complaints? Nah..I cannot think of a one,
Who says it's a waste of time if I pray?
The last thought I have, as I drift asleep,
I am so grateful to be alive -
Tomorrow, again, I know I will thrive,
And my good fortune, likewise I shall keep.
