“Coffee to go with a Cigarette”

Black magic coffee beans growing in rows
Goodness knows how long must we wait,
For a season of rain and sun in the breeze
Shining a new horizon on the city streets,
Where crowds are lost smoking to dream
Oh! If only for the coffee to go with cream,

Seeing mountains high up so clean
From smog and pollution in tobacco,
The buds now green harvested soon
Under hidden clouds bursting lightly,
There to wash away the fear of failure
Producing a crop free from disease.

The evil in man created the cigarette
Nicotine a new black magic to death,
Hidden while smoking a coffee to go
On a stretcher strapped down crying,
Why can’t I breathe my lungs are tight
There is no light for me trying to see,

My children, where are they hiding?
“Mom we told you so many times -
Please stop smoking it will kill you.
Just like dad coughing up his lungs
Cursing a doctor the drugs useless,
Leaving us alone without a home”
