Vocabulary List

Chock Ostentatious
Abate Extraneous
Inane Vociferous
Sidle Platitude
Palatial Innocuous

Some folks are so ostentatious
It causes one to be vexatious.
Inane behavior, while quite audacious,
Is an irritant that’s quite tenacious!

Their pretentious platitude will bore
The staunchest person to the core!
Such rude conduct I quite abhor;
To remain civil becomes a chore.

Palatial grandeur in their mind
Spews out their mouths and often grind
The nerves of most of all mankind,
But to themselves they are quite blind.

Inflated self images should abate
With dignity, calm and sedate.
Such conduct should have been innate!
Good manners should always be au fait.

Innocuous remarks often serve
To be much kinder on the nerves.
Braggarts’ boasts will never deserve
The praise they desire to conserve.

Extraneous showing off can be
Such vulgar displays, it seems to me.
I would like these boors to agree
To simple acts of courtesy!

Arrogant, bigheaded and so vain,
They’re looked upon with such disdain.
Their actions will ever be my bane.
Patience for me will be arcane!
