The Discoveries of Dario

Chapter 1
Understanding my Environment

I am suddenly aware. I look around and I am surrounded by substances that are solid, semi-solid, and a substance that flows in waves. Above me, there is light that comes from an extremely bright object that is rising above the surface. I feel so strange as I cannot remember how I got here. I look at myself and I appear to be wearing some kind of garment. I have two legs, arms, hands, and feet. I appear to be wearing something on my feet.

I slowly realize that I can move and I move my arms and fingers about. I use my hand with 5 digits to pick up a small hard object on the surface. I examine it and find it to be hard, round, and a grey color. I toss the object away into a flowing liquid to my front and see it splash. I become aware from some distant memory that this liquid is water and that the area above me is the sky. It is blue with various objects that are clouds.

I attempt to stand on my feet, but lose my balance and fall to the ground. On my second try, I manage to stand. To my right, there is some kind of dwelling with a structure that extends into the large body of water before me. I become aware of a very small lifeform that flies around my face. I can also hear the call of various other lifeforms. Some of them are flying about. I turn around and I can see other plant type lifeforms that are very tall with little green objects attached.

I look down at the water and see my reflection. I appear to have blue skin and realize that this is normal for my kind. I begin to wonder if there are others of my kind out there and I look around and see no one.

Suddenly, I hear what sounds like voices in the distance, which appear to be coming from the direction of the structure I noticed before. There appear to be two distinct voices. I look in that direction and see two figures in the distance, which appear to be humanoid and they are walking in my direction. On closer inspection, I notice that they have a different skin color which appears to be a pale, pink and tan color and they are wearing garments of some kind. One of them has something on the top of its head. At that point, I realize that they are a lot shorter than I. One of the voices is of a lower pitch while the other is a higher pitch.

As the figures get closer, the one with the higher pitch voice notices me and is startled. This entity then lets off a terrible shriek that startles me. The other entity looks at me and also makes a loud noise. I begin to get the impression that they are afraid of me. Both figures quickly turn around and run the opposite direction toward the structure.

I attempt to communicate with them and wave but that only seems to frighten them more as they run away. I procceed to walk towards the structure and find the entrance. The door or entry is very small and it opens easily.

I look inside and can see different kinds of furnishings. I suddenly notice another entity that is different from the others. It is smaller and has a covering that is white in color. The creature is making barking sounds and showing its teeth. It approaches and tries to attack me by snapping at my leg. Suddenly, it attempts to penetrate my leg with its teeth.

This creature begins to annoy me and I reach down and swat it, sending it against the wall. From that time on, there is no more movement or sound from the creature. At that point, I become concerned that I may have harmed it and I walk over, pick it up, and examine it. It appears to be lifeless and I lay it down on the floor.

I start to find the inside of this dwelling uncomfortable as I have to bend over to walk around. It appears that the seats and the furnishings are too small for me to use.

Chapter 2
This World is Not Mine

I prooceed to move through the dwelling until I find another exit in the rear. I open up the door to find some kind of platform that has steps which lead to another narrow platform that extends out over this body of water. I move out of the dwelling and proceed to walk along the platform over the water.

I suddenly have a flashback memory and see myself aboard some kind of craft with a few others of my kind, and then it fades. I begin to realize that this is not the world I am from. "What am I doing here?" I wonder. I begin to yearn for others of my kind as I feel so alone on this strange world.

Suddenly, behind me I hear the voice of a being of this world. I immediately turn around and see three beings similar to the one with the lower pitched voice. Two of them appear to be wearing some kind of uniform and they have some kind of weapon in their hands. I hear their voices but cannot understand them. Fearing that a confrontation is imminent, I try to think of a way to avoid it.

There are two flashes from the weapons in their hands and I find a way to project some kind of force field that protects me from the projectiles. The weapons have no effect on me as I proceed to move back down the platform. I see that the beings have turned around and are fleeing as I move off the platform onto the surface of this world and I procceed to move towards the location where I found myself. Perhaps, I will find some kind of clue as to why I am here.

I make my way down the beach until I reach the location of my first awareness, but there is nothing there to help me with identifying myself or my reason for being here. Suddenly I am aware of a large flying object in flight above me. It is a strange looking craft with whirling blades and noise. I look down the beach towards the structure and I can see that a large group of those beings I had encountered earlier has assembled and is slowly approaching. Some of them appear to be wearing some kind of uniform.
