The monkeys are dancing

There is always work to be done
in winter months, in Blijdorp Zoo
creating better space for the animals
to live in. Oh yes.

But work goes much faster
with good music around your ears
and in this past week, the music
was excellent. Oh yes!

The transistor radio that I brought with me
was tossed around by the chimpansees
and even Bokito* was smiling

Did I see it right, or was I dreaming?
the apes were "swinging and doing the twist
on music by Buddy Holly, Fats and Cliff

The few visitors were in awe
some even filming the fun
music makes people dance. Oh yes!
