Thin Ice
for Writer's Cramp. The experience of getting published is like walking on thin ice

They asked, becaused they enjoyed my "work"
I knit for fun, you know.

And a few years ago, I started to write down what I did.
I did not consider it as writing
...but people told me it was a different kind of writing.

notebooks filled with abbreviations
in two languages, a mess really
besides sock yarn I had only experience with acrylics...

Boy! That would change!!! And fast.
"Submit something to the magazine! I love it all!", she wrote
I did what she asked... nervosity struck me
it felt like I was walking barefoot
on very thin ice

One year and a bit later
the ice has hardened
more publications followed
although the feeling stays the same...
I'm walking on ice, barefoot still
and the magazines?
They publish my sock designs!
