"More Than Just A Friend "
---Spirit like the mustang, running wild and running free ---Your joy and laughter echoes on the wind. ---Come and take my trembling hand and run away with me ---I want to be much more than just your friend. I was only fifteen the first time I saw your face I saw you on the stairway after school. I wanted then to talk to you, but I was just afraid You’d laugh at me for being such a fool. The next time that I saw you, I just had to take a chance. I said hello; you graced me with your smile. Since then, we’ve been the best of friends, but now my heart wants more My body wants to go the extra mile. ---Spirit like the mustang, running wild and running free ---Your joy and laughter echoes on the wind. ---Come and take my trembling hand and run away with me ---I want to be much more than just your friend. Now, every day at 4 o’clock, we meet up at the barn. We joke around while brushing down each horse. The pay’s not much, but where we live, a job is hard to find But being by your side is best, of course. We’re seventeen; we think we know each other’s hopes and dreams We ride and talk about what’s yet to come You laugh and gallop off ahead, your hair is blowing wild, While my poor heart is thumping like a drum. ---Spirit like the mustang, running wild and running free ---Your joy and laughter echoes on the wind. ---Come and take my trembling hand and run away with me ---I want to be much more than just your friend. ![]()
