The Call
One day within your heart There came a distinct call Your country, it did seem Needed you, needed your all From high school halls to Ivy walls The call is much the same Join forces to defend And protect your country’s name You stepped up to the line Chose the path you would take You did this free of will And ne’er did you hesitate Be it in a time of peace Or during the strife of war You set aside civilian life Entered the world, took your tour Then the time it did come To home and kin you returned But the visions and sounds In your heart they are burned Brave and proud you stayed your ground You did not waiver, did not fall Standing here this day and this hour Because you chose to hear the call.
