"Gaia's Message"
The message of Gaia is sweeping the land. Her circle of life has connected us all. She nods to her creatures, the large and the small, The plants and the animals, at her command. The earth is her stage; with a setting so grand, The scenes and the script hold the actors in thrall. The message of Gaia is sweeping the land. Her circle of life has connected us all. Her warning is one that we must understand. Abuse of the earth is what we must forestall. The way it looks now, it may be a close call. For us to survive, we must lend her a hand. The message of Gaia is sweeping the land. ![]() This poem is written as a Rondel. The Rondel is a French form consisting of 13 lines. It contains two quatrains and a quintet, rhyming as follows: ABba abAB abbaA. The capital letters are the refrains, or repeats. I have chosen an 11 syllable count for each line.
