The hotel curtains block the harsh sunlight
Though vibrant stripes illuminate our skin
The sheet that we were underneath last night
Has fallen to the carpet once again

Our bodies symbiotic, woven ‘round
The scent of us is everywhere, it seems
Our labored breathing is the only sound
As slowly we dissolve into our dreams

And as I taste the sweetness of your flesh
And you partake the saltiness of mine
The corners of our hearts begin to mesh
The pathways of our lives become entwined

Forever burned into my memory
That August, in the hotel, you and me
