The Walk
the long walk to the gates of the kingdom in heaven

Assuredly I say to you
let those that see turn their ear
let those that hear open their eye
when God utters a word it comes from within
for this is mans inherent gift from his creator

Now leave your bag for fire is burning at your path
you may not know where you're going
but you know you won't be back
even if you tire I will hold you to the task
take nothing on this walk for I will provide
we will walk through fields where sunlight streams
to arrive at the land of kings
do not despair at things you see for I am with you
I will hold you to my bosom when you shed a tear

Now leave behind your sorrows for this day was made your last
tomorrow you will find the sunshine and all this darkness will be past
walk on this path where the saints and iniquitous with the disadvantaged and conquerors walk
walk on this path where the immoral and risk takers with all the lost souls walk
walk on this path where the broken hearted with the thieves and departed souls walk
walk on this path where fools and angels walk
and where you will always hear the angels singing
walk on this path where the chauvinistic and the proud walk
and where you will find all the lost children
for on this path the slayers will fall to ruin
walk on this path where life and freedom is everlasting
walk on this path where true faith has been rewarded
I say come and walk on this path
for I await you at the gates

Sometimes you listen to music and find spirituality where you least expect it
Bruce Springsteen is one rocker that has lots of soul and one can find it in his work
that is what makes him one of my favorites
this work was inspired by one of his songs
