Just Another Star In Heaven

I remember the night that Mama died,
The tears kept flowin' as I cried and cried,
But she said she would always be my guide,
And now she's another star in heaven.

My mama always taught me right from wrong,
She said that I should try to get along,
But to keep my faith and convictions strong,
And now she's another star in heaven.

My mama told me I should be just me,
To be the person I was meant to be,
And to shine my light so that all could see,
And now she's another star in heaven.

My mama said love was everything,
She told me that love could make a heart sing,
Love is like a flower blooming in spring,
And now she's another star in heaven.

Now I won't forget the things Mama said,
For they're in my heart, my soul, and my head.
And though there's many a tear that I've shed,
I know Mama's another star in heaven.
