Forty years before the sun
Then three more and a new door Bursting heart overfilled by love Those glorious bundles from above The time it flew with blinding speed Now their lives be their own Mother and father together alone Memories like shadows in our minds Happiness we pray that they will find The shortened hallway filled with dark Hand on knob we await the Ark Glances cast over shoulder slope Bittersweet we wish them hope Rustling leaves in life’s breeze We dry our eyes upon on our sleeve Then close the door and softly leave
