You See? I'm Not Alone, After All!

I realize that some of my collegues on this site, have wearied of my inability (or unwillingness), to alter the theme of my writing. I detail the disrespectful treatment of boys in the U.S., especially in regard to nudity. Although I have received some wonderful emails, in support of my cause, I can usually count on "hearing crickets chirping," after each post.

I ask that any fair-minded reader, Google: TOPIX: Naked Swimming Lessons. Here, you will find story after story, by men, who over several decades, were repeatedly viewed nude, by girls, as a result of school mandates.

For a long period of time in the U.S., boys in public schools, and in the YMCA, were required to take swimming lessons in the nude, (so that lint from their swim tunks would not clog the pool filters.) Fair enough, if precautions had been taken, to protect the dignity of the boys involved. However, for some unfathomable reason, school administrators arranged for boys to be marched, to, and from, the pool, naked,across the school grounds, in front of appreciative girls! One man stated that he was forced to undergo this indignity, 5 days a week------for 5 years.

Some may find these stories to be "cute" or "funny." I find them to be too sadly familiar. Although I will not attemp to use childhood trauma, as an excuse for perverted behavior, by men, I do believe that it can explain (at least partly), why some men have a difficult time "socializing," in later life.

When I was a student, girls were subjected to hair-pulling, name-calling, "love taps," and "cootie catching," by boys. This had to have been annoying. I can attest to the fact that boys were routinely reprimanded, if their disrespectful treatment was observed by a teacher.

In the case of naked swimming lessons, we have school asministrations actually requiring that boys parade, naked, in full view of girls, 5 days a week. I would ask that my friends on this site, read thee stories of organized boy humiliation-----and see that I am not along, after all!
