Can you hear it? The darkness is falling. Do you believe it? This world is so appalling. The sun leaves us cold, To the light of the moon. All that's left to hold is the silence he brings. Though it's quite demeaning, I challenge you to prove These stanzas have no meaning, this poem an empty lie. Can you hear it? The echos of the night. Do you believe it? Death is taking flight. Sweeping across the skies His prey unknowing. In this hush now it dies, Though we, we never knew it. That silence is slowly taking, All we ever knew. This cold was slowly breaking, Everything it could. Can you hear it? That fear striking song. Do you believe it? All we thought was wrong. In this darkness mournful cries. A lone wolf standing in silver coat, Lay down for now he dies. Coat once beauty now stained red. Blood pouring from a small wound, the reason he has dead. Can you hear it? The trees' whisper with the wind. Do you believe it? They gossip of our sin. A murderer, a killer, a troubled mind gone astray. Hoping to have vanish, When night finds the day. Hoping though in vain. Hands stained with blood. Washes all the red, But the guilt stays to flood all sanity away Can you hear it? The death of an old day. Do you believe it? That maybe night has come to stay. Now aches our hearts, Screaming for a new day. Its tearing us apart, Waiting for the dawn. Above us stars are spinning, Mocking night's sweet song. Around us blackness singing, Of all that we had now gone. Can you hear it? Not the silence you'd expect. Do you believe it? It's all that you regret.
