Hey
This is the road to my Brick City
covered in blood and rife with pity
when walking on the south side watch out for the witty
there on that corner the black boys are crying
for the one that took a bullet without even trying
cause when you deal and pack a gun your clock is always lying
it can happen anywhere at any time

Hey
This is the road to my Brick City
covered in blood and rife with pity
when walking on the north side watch out for the witty
there on that corner the ricans do the same
they dance and carry on while they also play the game
and they fall to the ground in tears when a brother takes a bullet with no name
it can happen anywhere at any time

Hey
listen to the words of the children talking
when they go to school with the fear of walking
look at the children standing on the corner crying
when the band goes by and there are still more dying
they wonder if they will ever have a chance to come out and play
without the fear of doing so could be their last day

Hey
this is the road to my Brick City
covered in blood and rife with pity
when the mayor is on tv saying things so witty
and the cops out on the street pick up the pieces of the shame
to the gangs that run the street it's like playing a live video game
all play a part in my Brick City for everlasting fame
good thing we're not in Mexico where children die like falling rain
