“The Keys to Wisdom"

Mystics foretell of many codes broken;
Antique faces exclaim from their headstones.
Angel voices harmonic have spoken
Man longs to belong to a circle known.

Ancient stone statues pitched backward to lean,
Stare with solemn eyes the cosmos to see;
Holographic, marvel at star-struck scene,
Mesmerizing as Lady Liberty.

Drop two stones in a silent pond's entrance.
Both circles formed wisely overlap there;
Below water's surface; interference
Like the spirit of man mingles to share.

Wisdom's keys lie beneath the spreading wave:
Man’s spirit encircled; never enslaved.

Sonnet Form; 14 lines, iambic pentameter
Rhyme: ABAB, CDCD, EFEF, GG
