(Almost) Like a Friend I sort of saw you cry today With every anguish laid bare, My prying eyes witness to What you never dare to share. Then with your every shudder, I imagined the torments within - Making it harder to hate you, Since we share this similar sin. All my wonder is expelled, Though too does disappointment flee, As my curiosity's sniff Earns a broken nose for me And wins for you some sympathy.
