Stunted
Because sometimes is hard to move on.

Stunted

Memories come again, beat against and erode the soul
Regret is meaningless and impotent
Sitting in darkness alone and crowded with you
With what you left behind
With what I can’t seem to give away

Still angry and hurt I feel so stunted
Stuck in a place I want to burn down
You took me when you left

Boxes are scattered with bits of us
You left them for me
But left none of me
The curtains are tattered, soiled and falling
The carpet’s been ripped up, left only glue

Damn I feel stunted
Running in circles and climbing the walls
You’ve trapped me within memory and pain

Born out of the sickness
My new self is broken and rotten
I want to give it all back
I want to me back
And leave you with all of this

Upset and confused that I feel so stunted
Holding together be frayed edges, ripping and tearing
Afraid I’ll feel forever so stunted
