There was a sad bloke named Sunny,
Who cried for lack of some money To buy soda pop, With ice-cream on top, For him and Sue-Anne, his honey. He cried, "Sue-Anne, honey, my dear-- I can't afford pop or cold beer! Oh, being so broke Is really no joke!" And asked, "Sue-Anne, honey, my dear-- "You know that I love you--it's clear-- So, baby, please be a kind dear And help us both out Or we'll get thrown out For being oh! so broke, I fear." So poor Sue-Anne took out her purse And thought that she could do no worse Than Sunny, her bloke, Who now got a Coke, Though she felt that this was her curse: She used to be happy and bright, Until she overheard one night *( ), Mom whine to dear Dad, "**Brooke's lovely, I'm glad, But our Sue-Anne looks more a blight!" * (as a little girl) ** "Brooke"--Sue-Anne's more well-favored and attractive sister
