Hi Everyone,
Glad to be here. I'm kim and I'm still learning how WDC works. I hope I figure it out soon. I started writing in July '10. I've been an avid reader all my life, mostly classics and contemporary fiction. Although, I've been known to read anything handy. I've taken a couple of classes outside of WDC but think this class will really speed me on my way. My love is short stories, flash fiction and experimental fiction. I majored in English and PoliSci a long, long, time ago. I would love to have a couple of stories ready for some contests this year. I'm interested in being published, but more important, I want to write stories that make me proud. I think I write pretty good dialog and narrative. I tend to get bogged down in physical pace, I love symbolism and morality. I work the best with a prompt. The story just unfolds in my mind. My weaknesses are definitely commas and proof reading. I just go blind when I try to correct my own work. I love a good, honest review and happily incorporate others suggestions as long as I agree with them. I like reviewing others work as well. I don't keep a journal or blog. I do have lots of notebooks and write down ideas, names, colors, plots, anything that will come in handy and make my fiction fresh and real. I'm taking the comma-kazi class along with this one. I look forward to getting started! kim
