Welcome to the review session for 2010's Tron: Legacy.
Here is your key: Rating - PG Lets begin! ----------------- Tron: Legacy starts up in the good ol' eighties (1989 to be exact). Since the first one came out in 1982, it means that in his time spent off screen computer genius extraordinaire Kevin Flynn got married and had a child, Sam, who is now seven. He loves his kid, sure. But he has another love. Something that compels him to leave late at night and go to his office. Almost like a not so secret addiction. However, until now, he's always come back. But that changes one rainy night, when leaves Sam with an unfinished story, and disappears. 20 years have passed, and Sam, now a rebellious 27 year old, Alan was his dads best friend, and the only person who still doesn't believe that Sam had been abandoned. But he wasn't just there to share a beer, no, he'd received a page from Kevin's office at the arcade. Retro right? That little page sends Sam on a wild adventure, into the very world that he'd heard stories about every night when he was a kid. The world where his father has been trapped for 20 years. Cue light cycle races, disk wars, and an epic soundtrack by Daft Punk. While some may just assume they already know "how the story goes" with this type of a movie, its not necessarily true. Its still chock full of action, adventure, love, and sick glowing backgrounds. Its fun for the whole family, and while young kids might not get everything and the action can get a little intense, they'll enjoy the colors and story. Adults will get the 80's humor, and appreciate the good acting from everyone involved. My rating -
