A Father’s Love
A rhyming poem about my old school dad - love him so much!

My respect for my dad, so devoted and kind,
And to my dear mom, is never too blind,
Begetting two sons with help from above,
With true admiration and deepest love!

From an immigrant family, once hungry and poor,
This freedom and liberty, he could not ignore.
Of prosperous stature, with status and pay –
The American dream, his own special way…

His family raised, but he has no real hobbies,
Taking time to travel, though, trips overseas…
A life of employment, paying taxes and bills,
Owns multiple dwellings, and a job that fulfills…

An old school dad with such a closed mind,
Not earning respect makes us very resigned –
But his love he has shown, through thick and through thin,
Ask him for something, and he’ll surely give in!

His love, I do treasure, though kind he may be,
To point out so coldly, we had things so easy…
I love my sweet dad – his life’s such a gift –
A generous soul, providing such a huge lift!
