A Poem of Passion in the "Classic" Style
A poem of passionate ardor in the "classic" tradition of the 17th-century Cavalier poets.

With errant hand about your hips,
And the other so hardly chaste,
Let us this night be locked in lips
As passions beg that we make haste!

Tonight we are an ardent pair;
And as I let down your tresses,
They fall free in the cool, night air,--
Even as heat builds and presses.

I am filled with much eager bliss
To make sweet love to you this night,
As Cupid’s arrows never miss,--
No one halts them, not might or right.

And so our coupled fates exclaim,
It's time to build our lovers' nest:
For passion’s power does proclaim,
Our love is stronger than life’s test!
