Punctuation Lesson# 1

My name's Sister of Mercy, and I chose my handle because one of my favorite songs is "Sisters of Mercy" by Leonard Cohen. Although my handle is Sister of Mercy, everyone usually calls me Sister. I'm thirty-four, but some days I feel as if I'm only sixteen. I live in a small town in MS where I grew up and will hopefully die because I never want to leave. I would rate my punctuation skills a five or six.

Writing became a hobby for me when I was thirteen and enrolled in a creative writing class at the library. I attempted to write a novel when I was in this class called Midnight Madness (a miserable effort indeed). My favorite genres to write are dark fantasy and horror, and I love writing novels and short stories. I've also dabbled with poetry even though my poems are terrible.  I've had twenty-seven poem published in several small poetry magazines and ezines such as The Storyteller, Simply Words, Aphelion, Alien Skin Magazine, Bell's Letters Poet, and Splizz to name a few. That's not too bad for a terrible poet is it?

I belong to WDC Frontliners, The Angel Army, Circle of Sisters, The Fantasy Keep, Novel Review Group, Mind Over Matter, and Showering Acts of Joy. I'm a staff member of WDC Frontliners and The Angel Army, and Mind Over Matter is a group that I've started recently.

I have an A.A. degree in Accounting and came close to obtaining degrees in History and General Business. Most people don't know that I love reading articles and books on personal finance.

I love classic country music and some folk. My favorite singers are Johnny Cash, June Carter Cash, Waylon Jennings, Lee Hazlewood, and Leonard Cohen. I love watching movies and TV. My favorite shows are Supernatural, Big Love, True Blood, Lost In Space, Lassie, Petticoat Junction, Riffleman, and Branded just to name a few. I'm totally obsessed with June Lockhart and Chuck Connors! My favorite authors are Stephen King, VC Andrews, HP Lovecraft, and Bentley Little.

I haven't traveled very much, but I have been to Indiana to visit some of my relatives on my father's side of the family. During my visits, I would always look forward to eating my grandmother's banana pudding.
