As the brand-new Shadows Express comes rolling into the station, its engine gleaming, its cars bursting with creativity and talent, let us take a moment to reflect on its roots.

In its infancy, as the first symbolic golden spike was pounded in, the original founder, and editor, Mystic_Writer, was there. Working countless hours, she laid the tracks for the gang's first e-Zine, Shadows. From Query Workshop, through the many editing phases, to its triumphant first stop, or first publication, our Editor Emeritus was there, helping to transform each submission into a rare and beautiful gem.

Many of you Dolls were passengers on that first journey, and so, you know first hand what it was like to work with dear Mystic. Not only was she a brilliant writer, herself, but she genuinely wanted YOU, her fellow writer, to achieve your dreams as well. If you ever received feedback from Mystic, you, and your piece, walked away, the wiser.

The old train, Shadows, has been retired. She sits in the yard now, and watches with pride as her child prepares to depart on its first journey. She, Mystic_Writer, should feel a sense of great accomplishment, because without her foresight, amazing work ethic, and great willingness to help all of us, Shadows Express would be but a dream, a gleam in someone's eye.
