A Message to Molly
Quizmo LaGrande I lost you, my friend. You promised you’d be there when I got back. But the problem was, I didn’t come back... Not in time, that is. You promised. I promised. You waited. I imagine you are still waiting. Where are you, my friend? When I came back you were gone. I tried to find you, but they said you went away and would not tell me where, That you were “better off,” That you are “happy.” Perhaps. Yet, I know you miss me. I know… I know. And I know you think of me when I think of you. (Or is it the other way around?) I found you once… a rescue, it was. While all the while you rescued me. Please rescue me again, for I am in distress without you. You promised you’d wait.. I saw it in your eyes. I lost you, my friend. Please let me find you again. * * * Written for "The Writer's Cramp" Prompt: Write a story or poem including the loss of a friend. Line count: 22
