Today's Memories

Today I think of the hurt deep in my heart,
You put there when you said we must part.
I have tried so hard to forget your memories,
Putting an end to them brings pains misery.

We can't change events once they're gone,
Let's remember experiences so they lives on.
Our sweet love wasn't meant to never die,
God knew what to do and the reasons why.

I did my best to keep our love true and alive,
The harder I tried the more I had to strive.
Our love has died and the spark has gone,
Leaving me suffering in pain on my own.
