Ode to the Rain
Pitter patter on the roof, softly falling. Every drop in whispered voices, calling. A means to convey the love of the sky. Reaching out to earth, with no wings to fly. Emotions flowing, pouring into land; connecting the two with a million strands. Crystal blue, like teardrops grieving a loss; celebrating new life we come across. Sharing laughs and smiles— tears of joy brimming. Hurtful memories— bitter tears streaming. Each drop tells a tale, a pale reflection mirroring the world's triumphs... afflictions. Washing away the past, healing the pain, here I write from the heart— "Ode to the Rain". Rhyme Scheme: a-b-c-b Syllable Pattern: 1st, 4th & 7th Stanzas 2nd, 3rd, 5th & 6th Stanzas What is an Ode? --a lyric poem, rhymed or unrhymed, typically addressed to some person or thing and usually characterized by lofty feeling, elaborate form, and dignified style.
