Civil Wor ![]() We forget words are more than meaningful sounds. They are shaded by hues of emotion; each hold a secret that is translated by the heart and known only to those who hear them. With a Midas touch, they yield gold or destruction. Like the gift of Dionysus, words are both blessing and curse; the results lie in how we wield them. It's too much to expect that we'll always agree but is it too much to contemplate civility taking root in our words? Notes Week 3 entry in "Poetic Exploration" Form: Etheree (Double) An Etheree is a ten-line syllabic verse with a syllabic pattern of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. A double uses the same form with 10 additional lines that reverse the syllable count. There are no other requirements for the Etheree Dionysus – The Roman god of "ritual madness and ecstasy" whose gave King Midas the gift that whatever he might touch should be changed into gold.
