A Double Etheree poem of a tribute to Moms.

Inspired from a conversation I overheard between my wife and my daughter.

Mom.
I'm blessed
to have you
as my mother.
No matter what goes
on in my life, you're there.
I watch how you treat people,
always with kindness and respect.
You are my model and my mentor.
I talk, you listen; I cry, you console.
Thank you for being the best Mom ever.
For years I attended church, and still
I sought out my own troubled path,
Your firm guidance gave me pause
to consider that life.
You taught me the best
comes from within.
I'll always
love you,
Mom

Author's Note:  A Double Etheree poem consists of twenty lines beginning with a single syllable and adding one syllable to each successive line until tenth line, and then decreasing the remaining ten lines by one syllable to a single final syllable.
