Dear Matthew, This year started off as most years in the past have. We went to your grandparents' house for the Christmas/New Year's/Birthday celebration. The one toy you wanted most in the world was an XBOX 360. That was way out of our price range. Besides, I didn't kow what a game like that would do to the television . It was decided that you would not get that. Instead, your grandparents got you a Nintendo DSi. It was preloaded with games. YOur Aunt Donna was in love with the device and wanted to keep it herself. You also received a savings bond, money, clothes, and other toys. Your Dad and I also received money and gifts. For your actual birthday, I got you a game disk for your DSi. YOu were able to go to Burger King and get three games through their WiFi network. February brought some interesting news. It seemed to be a shock for your father, but for me, I knew you were uo to the task. We received a copy of your MEAP scores. You were off the charts. When we came for parent/teacher conferences, I asked Mrs. Klopf what should be done in this situation. Would you be stimulated enough to keep your mind active? The answer she gave was disheartening. I called to arrange for you to have testing to see if you would belong in an advanced class. You weren't able to attend the appointment due to the fact that your father had to work on that day.
