From the ashes
Out of death comes life

From the ashes

Within the dying embers
of where a fire had burned
are all the sad reminders
of what I should have learned.
-
Forsaken by the many
who loved me in my day
these ashes are a comfort
as I go on my way.
-
And what you see is nothing
compared to tears that fall
within the heart reminded
it never knew it all.
-
From out of dying embers
of where a fire had burned
a flame is being kindled
from that which I have learned.
