The treasures of the earth are hidden from our sight. (Form: Sapphic Ode)

Hidden Treasures

A field full of daisies shine bright
distracting, keeping from our sight
and mind, mysteries long thought lost.
In earth embossed.

Sunlight softly floats through the glade.
revealing hidden treasures made
and long since taken from display;
safe from harm's way.

Her eyes seek the covert places
where her treasures hide in spaces.
They exist in forms of essence;
perdu presence.

A litany of fabled lore
not beyond some mythical shore
but hidden in our very view;
unknown but true.

Movement captures my attention
pulling my eyes in ascension
to clouds that form fantastic shapes;
my mind's agape.

There I see a white unicorn
that was long thought lost, now reborn
in billowing clouds I can see;
reality?

Now a dragon seen flying low,
sunlight's fire in eyes of shadow.
Creatures visiting through time's mist
today persist.

In the garden, moving flowers
recall sprites with magic powers.
A world known but unexpected;
undetected.

Gaia smiles at our ignorance
as the mythos around us dance.
Science searches but cannot find;
by choice we're blind.
