Celebrity
a short poem about the trappings of celebrity...

Celebrity

Walls unnaturally colored
Ceiling dripping deceit
I sit trapped within my throne complete
I would scream out loudly
But no one would hear me
Confined like a bug in a jar

Who are these people with fangs aglow?
I thought I knew them
But now I don't know
They take all that I have
And they give me no peace
And here I thought I was the star

Tied with barbed wire
Wet with my Barbie doll tears
I hear all the rumors surrounding my ears
If there was any truth to find
I think I would know it
But I can't even park my own car

Sitting cocooned as spider food on a diet
And dressed to deny it
The spiders are circling
And hoping to try it
Someone write me a line and then let me say it
I just wish I could know where we are
