Not From Vanity I hear the silent words; I see the plight of those in pain, of those lost in the night. My instincts says turn – but my heart can't flee. As I listen I find one voice is me. It's then I find that my humanity must extend to self, not from vanity. It's an extension, another part of the compassion encompassed by my love. Notes An entry in Week 5 of "Poetic Exploration" Form: Tetractys (Quad) Tetractys consists of at least 5 lines of 1, 2, 3, 4, 10 syllables (total of 20). It can be written with more than one verse, but must follow suit with an inverted syllable count. It can also be reversed and written 10, 4, 3, 2, 1. Thank you for taking time to read my words.
