She cries and teams of help respond.

My granddaughter,
Olivia Simone White, 5 days old.
San Diego's first baby of 2011.




A Baby Cries



Big brown eyes
look deep in mine,
questioning,
for all is new.

Her weight supported
in my hand.
She cries
and teams of help
respond.

A princess --
all wants are met,
burping, rocking
until eyes are shut.
