Achoo!
A young child has other plans when he/she has a cold.

“Achoo!”

I’m sick today.
I have a cold
But I wanna play.
“Stay in bed.” I am told.

I don’t cough very much. (cough)
And my nose is fine. (sniff, sniff)
Am I still warm to the touch?
I need some sunshine.

I’ll play on my new swing.
And I’ll go very slow.
It’s just the most fun thing.
I say, “Ready, set and go.”

Look! Daddy just came through the door
With a special surprise I see.
It’s a reading book about the seashore
That he has promised to read to me!

The age range is a mature 5 year old, and 6 to 7 year old child.
I would like input from any parent if a child might like to hear this poem. Thanks.
