It's easy to hold her hand and run… this ain't a home, seems much like a tomb. As easy as it is to put on my shoes… it's easy to walk out of this tiny room. (but I know, I know I won't take that route) The dream of a child is now the dream of a man… How I wish I could learn to play the guitar! I know they can wait to have a voice of their own… till then let these words be as they are. I tell my heart it's just in my mind… someday I'm sure I'll get through this strife. Someday... Someday... I would earn back my smile… (yeah I'd learn once more to smile) I need to scramble through a million doors… before dew drops I love are gone. I need to reach there before it's dark… invent for myself a brand new dawn. It's easy to be out there in the sun. smell fresh air, see flowers bloom. Watch kids play (and have a free kick or two!)… it's easy to walk out of this tiny room. (but I know, I know I won't take that route) Hands are itching to be on the steering… and mind wants to just fly away so far. Everything else must be put on hold or... I won't ever own that red dream car. So I tell my heart it's just in my mind… someday I'm sure I'll get through this strife. Someday... Someday... I would earn back my smile… (yeah I'd learn once more to smile) I need to scramble through a million doors… before dew drops I love are gone. I need to reach there before it's dark… invent for myself a brand new dawn. A knock on the door and the buzz of my phone… are trying their best to break inside... Sorrows and smiles; even love can wait… I'll let them in, but not his time. The night's not far when I'd be counting stars... and I won't be alone singing this song. But I need to reach there before it's dark… invent for myself a brand new dawn. ![]()
