At the Poetry Center
Surrounded by poets and poems Mine, all mine. Robert Frost, Billy Collins Shel Silverstein and Poe I claim them all. And hundreds more, forever coming Into my arms, my mouth, my heart. Yes. I wrote them In my heart and soul. With my breath, my laughter and my tears. Hell, I lived them. Deeply, daily, minute by minute Was there ever any doubt? Yes. I hear it now, feel it even. You don't believe me. You think they're yours While all the time they are mine. Why? Because I love them. With a jealous, monogamous love. You too? Must I share? No! In my heart, they will always be Mine. All mine.
