SNOW-CAPPED MOUNTAINS

The snow-capped mountains call to me,
a symbol of peace and the will to be free.
Majestic in the glow of the moonlit sky,
no better place on this earth to live or die.

Rising up to the sky in the morning light,
these mountains fill my heart with delight.
Then thoughts of tranquility fill my dreams,
hear the rushing sound of mountain streams.

They are home to eagles, soaring high above
and filling me with the wonder of God's love.
They are home to deer, who find shelter there,
along with moose, fox, and even black bear.

I stand alone and gaze with the utmost awe,
at the beauty high above me, so wild and raw.
Yet spring will come and the mountain will be
transformed, its another welcome sight to see.

The mountains will give way to the rising sun,
and the new cycle of life surely has begun.
Fawns frolic in the new-found warmth of day,
while cubs leave their mothers to go and play.

Spring gives way to Summer, then early Fall,
and the winter winds will start again to call.
Snow-capped mountains once again will rise
to meet the exquisite beauty of the skies.

The snow-capped mountains call to me,
a symbol of peace and the will to be free.
Majestic in the glow of the moonlit sky,
no better place on this earth to live or die.
