HOW IT WORKS

It's very simple. Each month, I'll post 5 opening lines to choose from. Pick your favorite and write a limerick for that line. Poems will be judged on form, content, and wit.

RULES

Entries must be in limerick form (see example above).

Entries must use one of the opening line options provided.

Entries must be rated E. Family friendly content only!

Maximum of 30 qualifying entries will be accepted per contest round.

The round ends on the last day of the month, or when the thirtieth entry is submitted, whichever comes first.

FEBRUARY'S OPENING LINES

There once was a actor named Joe

The spinster who lived down the street

Aunt Suzy made chicken for dinner

A very brave fellow named Gary

One day little Bradley stopped talking

The spinster who lived down the street
Longed for a bachelor to meet.
She’d tried time and again
To date many young men,
But each time she was met with defeat.

Aunt Suzy made chicken for dinner
Some say at this she’s a winner.
She fries it just right,
And with each bite
Your waist will never get thinner!

A very brave fellow named Gary
Attempted to find something scary.
He found things in the night
That filled him with fright.
Brave Gary is now very wary.
