The Ring I look at this band of gold upon my finger You placed it there so many years ago It still gleams and shines in the light Although, it’s not quite the same A diamond chip is missing, a prong is bent But to me it is even more beautiful A permanent groove in my finger It nestles snugly in its place Just one glance and I recall The laughter, the tears, the love It reminds me of all we share I look at the band of gold upon my finger And I smile Because you placed it there so many years ago
