An Ode to the MIrage
Oh sandstorm passing through me, oasis in the distance, the pools are filled with mermaids— red meat, in the sushi bar . . . Why sand, disappoint me? I knew this was a desert, and brought this jug of nourishment— spilled by the laws of entropy. Below the cactus: suffering— not the pools I see, but the need to name them as something that I need. The need to name becomes the path that leads me from the path that leads me to the door— of pristine clarity. Oh sandstorm swirling ‘round me, I love thy dryness thus— For loving is the living light, shone upon your emptiness.
